Emanuel's pomegranate designed wooden Havdalah spice box invites you to partake in the lovely smell of the spices included within. The hand painted wooden box is painted with a brush and then several coats of lacquer are applied making the box water resistant.

The end of Shabbat is marked with the Havdalah service. We pass around and smell a cermonial spice box, called a Hadas. 'Hadas' is the Hebrew word for the myrtle, a lovely aromatic shrub, the branches of which were passed around by the Hebrews' ancestors in their Havdalah rituals.

Folklore describes this custom as a remedy Jews used to revive and console themselves after they supposedly lost their 'extra souls' at the end of each Sabbath.

Size: Rectangular spice box 2 x 1.6 x 1 inches [5x4x3cm].
